Tom Allen joined RIA Advisors in April of 2021 with the sole focus of serving and developing qualified retirement plan business. In his role as a Retirement Plan Consultant, Tom aims to bring clarity, simplicity, and an excellent retirement plan experience for employers and participants. His value proposition includes consulting on plan design, fiduciary governance, vendor selection & integration, investment selection & monitoring, as well as employee education and financial wellness.

Tom began his career in the financial services industry in the midst of the 2008 financial crisis as an associate at Cardiff Park Advisors in Carlsbad, CA. He quickly learned the value of having an independent professional in your corner to help you navigate the uncertainty associated with your financial future. In 2012, he moved to Index Fund Advisors, a multi-billion dollar RIA in Irvine, CA where he grew into management roles in operations, trading, and risk management. For the last 4 years, Tom has been serving as Regional Director at Retirement Plan Consultants where is assisted retirement plan advisors in designing, implementing, and incorporating retirement plan business into their practices.

Originally from California, Tom graduated from University of California, San Diego dual degrees in Management Science & Philosophy. Tom is a CFA Level III Candidate through the CFA Institute, an Accredited Investment Fiduciary, a Plan Fiduciary Advisor, and a Qualified 401(k) Administrator.

Tom lives in the Houston Heights with his wife Luci and son James. Aside for his passion with helping individuals financially, he shares an equal passion for health & wellness. In his spare time, Tom serves as a business consultant for local gyms in the Houston heights, coaches individuals in nutrition and mindset, and competes at the national level in Olympic weightlifting in the 89kg weight class as well as local and regional functional fitness competitions.
